Words aren't enough
I only 'sort-of' understand what this first photo meant to my gram. That day meant so much to her. She told me so just a few days before she passed away. It was one of several pictures that were on her table in the hospital and it came home with us last Saturday. One of the last things I told her was how happy I was that my children will grow up knowing that they were held and loved by their great-grandmother. Especially Josh, who loved sit with her and read books. Many times he would abandon her mid-book, and she would sit patiently, Goodnight Moon open on her lap, until he returned. Sometimes she would fall asleep in her chair and he would put things in her lap as she slept. She would awake to a lap full of toys and kitchen utensils. She was such a special woman - the best grandmother one could hope for - and we are all taking this quite hard. We appreciate all the support we have gotten over the past week (special thanks to Sue and Lynne for "kid-duty"!) She touched so many lives and her spirit lives on in her family.

You're right she was a great lady. She was just like a grandmother to me. We were so sorry that we were unable to make it to he wake/funeral.
